About the collective Link to this heading

Brassica Collective is a multi-site housing project driven by an emerging group of participants. Inspired by RAD Housing, we aim to use the ’transistion to stewardship’ model to help us retrofit and decommodify multiple houses in ways that support us to live more collectively while acting in solidarity with broader movements for justice.

My involvement Link to this heading

I was one of the instigators of this collective, and I’m now trying to find ways to de-center myself (not my strong suit) and ensure that many hands are able to carry the work forwards.

Each month, I choose whether or not to opt-in to the project (I generally do) and which working crews to join.

Theory of Change Link to this heading

Given that we need to be housed anyway, the idea is that they money we pay to landlords and the work of placemaking and community, is better used as a lever to create the world we want to see.
